The Role of Data science in 2020
As a practicing data scientist,
instructor, and technology columnist, I automatically have three main motives
to maintain a constant pulse in the industry. When I'm up to date, consuming
all the latest from creators and shakers and checking new and updated tools, I
can immerse myself in the service of my customers, train my students and have
new content with which I can communicate to my readers. In this article, I'm
excited to shape the data science trends I see shortly, especially 2020, about
key trends in data science, machine learning, and AI. I am amazed at what I see
and hope to be in the trench with data science by 2020.
SkyInfotech is one of the best institutes for Data Science
training for the last 17 years and in this blog I will talk about some trend of
Data Science.
THE EXPLAINABILITY/INTERPRETABILITY OF AI CONTINUES TO ADVANCE
The concept of
intelligence/meaning of AI, i.e. the platforms, is clear enough that a person
who is an expert in recognizing how decisions are made will gain relevance by
2020. According to an Accenture report from 2018, the level of transparency of
AI is increasing, allowing people to make the necessary corrections based on
the explanations provided. This trend is strong in 2019 and, according to all
information, will become more of a focus in 2020.
"We believe that
[explainable AI] will dominate the enterprise AI landscape in three years -
because it enables people to act and act responsibly and to create effective
human-machine collaboration," Accenture commented in her Report.
THE INTEGRATION OF THE DATA SCIENCE ECOSYSTEM CONTINUES
2019 is the year of intense
activity and consolidation in the industry. In June, Salesforce Tableau and
Google acquired advanced lookers. These were the biggest deals, but many other
smaller mergers took place: Gengo via Lionbridge, ClearStory Data from Alteryx,
Data Robot via 3 companies (ParallelM, Cursor, and Paxata), Appen the Photo
Eight, Altair via Datawatch Corp., Cloudera acquired Arcadia Data, Sisense
merged with Periscope Data, Logi Analytics acquired Zoomdata, Qlik acquired
Attunity, MRI Software acquired Leverton, Imagine Wherescape, HPE acquired
MapR, SymphonyAI was acquired by Ayasdi, just to mention.
By 2020, expect top tech names to leverage their assets by bringing more integration into the data sciencemarket. The appetite for third party providers will increase. This trend is partly driving the number of companies that are currently watching the emergence of the AI-as-a-Service market. This will play a bigger role in how established companies acquire the skills they need to use AI.
